GSDBA To Hold Annual Pride Mixer at Hawthorn's

The Greater San Diego Business Association will hold its annual Pride mixer from 5:30 to 8 p.m., July 17, at Hawthorn’s Restaurant Lounge, located in the front of the historic Stephen and Mary Birch North Park Theater, at 2895 University Ave.

The mixer is among a series of official pre-Pride events, with a portion of the proceeds providing local youth (ages 15-16) free tickets to the Pride festival on July 19 and 20. Hors d’oeuvres will be furnished by an array of local restaurants, including Bite, Ono Sushi, Urban Mo’s, Hawthorn’s and others.

"The annual event brings together GSDBA business people and their guests to celebrate Pride within our community," said Joyce Marieb, chief executive officer of the GSDBA. "This year we are particularly proud that LGBT residents of California now have equal marriage rights."

Admission is $10 for GSDBA members and $15 for guests, which includes food and the first drink free.
